DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]View a video of the War Cross Awards Ceremony hereThis year‘s Winter Court was held on 11 March 2021\, at the Union Club. Forty-four Warriors and guests gathered to enjoy the black tie dinner while others were able to watch the evening through a live stream. \nThe theme of the evening was to honor some of those among our membership\, who were awarded War Crosses  by the General Society of Colonial Wars.\n\nOriginally intended to honor those who had served in World War I\, the War Cross is now available to those who have served in most of the Nation’s armed conflicts\, including the Gulf War\, Kosovo\, Afghanistan and Iraq. At our Winter Court\, we bestowed War Crosses upon  eight of the ten members to whom they have been awarded.\n\nColonel Thomas F. Pike\, Jr.\, one of the recipients\, helped revive this tradition and spoke about  the War Cross.\n\n\nTwo of our Awardees were not able to join us in person:\n\nWillits Herbert Sawyer III\, Lieutenant 03\, USN\, 1957-1968 - Vietnam Service Medal 3 Bronze Stars\nand Philip Kingsley Chamberlain\, Specialist 5\, 1970-1976 - Vietnam Service Medal\n\n \n\n---------------------------\n\n\nA special highlight of the evening was to hear our War Cross awardees share something about their military experience.\n\nThose present were:\n\n.\nWilliam D. Norgard\, Major USA\, 2008-2018 -Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal \n  \nAustin W. Lamac\, Sergeant ARNG\, 2005-2012 - Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal \nSumner E. Anderson Lieutenant JG\, USN\, 1992-1994 - Armed Forces Service Medal \n  \nDavid W. Bryant\, Major USMC\, 1987-1993 -Southwest Asia Service Medal \n  \nThomas F. Pike\, Jr.\, Colonel USA\, 1986-Still serving - Bronze Star Awards \n\n\n  \nDaniel L. Hooker\, Major USMC\, 1986-2007 - Southwest Asia Service Medal 3 Stars \n  \nGary L.
